I discovered the game around Petz 2, and was obsessed for years. The look of the petz stayed the same from Petz 2, but by Petz 5, we had different places to take our petz, many more objects, and could breed our petz in litters. Over the years it evolved a bit, until we got Dogz and Catz 5. It started with Dogz and Catz (Dogz 1 and Catz 1) and looked something like this: Not the console monstrosity by the same name, but a simple but compelling game where you could raise and play with catz and dogz on your desktop. Victor teaches The Player the scents for the Bug Cage and Fishing Tackle.īelow are the quests directly given and turned in by talking to Victor.Many years ago, there was a computer game called Petz. He then reassures that the plan is still on, and agrees to see the player again in North Pawville later that night. He remarks to the player that they'd be "chewed out for sure" if she'd found out about their plans. He and the player deny any claims to see him, eventually being frightened away by Augusta beginning to talk of how dangerous Ivlet is. On the way home, Victor and the player are stopped by Augusta, who questions them about their plans to visit Ivlet. He then encourages the player to practice using each of the tools before taking a short rest himself. Once the items are returned, he offers to clean them for The Player before permanently handing the items over to them. The Player takes on the role of Woofenstein Von Barkley, and must sniff out and dig up Victor's treasures and return them to him. They both agree to return at night, and choose to go play at Dolphin Coast together until nightfall.Īt Dolphin Coast, Victor asks The Player what they should play, only to then suggest that they play "cops and robbers." For their first round, Victor plays as the master robber Woofenstein Von Barkley while The Player attempts to chase after him as the cop.Īfter being caught, the two presumably take a break until Victor declares that the next game they play will simply be "robbers." During "robbers," Victor proclaims himself the richest in the land, burying his treasures of a Bug Cage and Fishing Tackle. Outside, Victor reiterates what Ada told them about Ivlet sleeping during the day, and guesses that if the two were to return at night, they'd be able to see the wolf awake and moving around. She lectures the two on how Ivlet is dangerous, and shoos them out of her Police Station. He and The Player are then startled as Ada enters the building. Once at the Police Station, Victor comments that Ivlet appears to be fast asleep. He then takes The Player to see the wolf for themself. Upon hearing that The Player has not previously heard of Ivlet, he explains who Ivlet is as well as that he's recently been caught and being held in North Pawville's Police Station. Along the way, he stops The Player to ask if they've heard of the wolf Ivlet. Victor first mentioning Ivlet to The Player while in South Pawville.Īt the beginning of the game, Victor visits The Player's home in South Pawville and asks them to go outside to play with him. Victor also personally describes Von Barkley as "strong, brave, and cool."īoth The Player and Victor roleplay as Von Barkley at some point during the events of the game. Von Barkley is never given a physical description, but is instead described as a villainous master robber. Victor has his own original character named Woofenstein Von Barkley. Victor commenting on Von Barkley being his own creation. He also displays a genuine good heart, feeling remorse for pressuring The Player into falling for Ivlet's trap and choosing to remain in the Police Station cage for the remainder of the game as he feels he deserves the punishment. While playing "robbers" with The Player, he expresses a moment of doubt in which he seems unsure as to whether or not the result of burying his items in the sand is a good idea.
He's very quick to encourage The Player to hang out and play with him as well as encourage them to take somewhat dangerous actions under the assumption that things will turn out fine.ĭespite his need for play, Victor has a nervous streak in him. Victor comes off as a playful young character who largely just wants to have fun.
